In Loving Memory of Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

1917-2008

It's hard to believe this man was known as "Speedy" back in the day when he was a running back for the U of U football team. More recently we have known him as an amazing apostle and determined disciple of the Lord-- he was working in his office at Church Headquarters up until Thanksgiving day. I loved listening to his sweet words. He will definitely be missed, but we're glad he's back with his wife, Elisa, and our beloved President Hinckley. By the way, did you know that the B in his name stands for Bitner just like Gordon B? They were cousins so perhaps it's a family name.

I always love to read an apostle's last conference address. I think it's interesting to hear their last inspiration for us. His last address is appropriately named "Come What May, and Love It" and you can find it here.

We'll miss you Elder Wirthlin!
